Imbuia wood armchair

This stylishly simple seat captures the modernist aesthetic of the Brazilian mid-century movement. 1946 Brazilian designers were evolving in tandem with Europe, but firmly adapting to local inspirations and material, this low slung chair was designed by the Italian born Scapinelli who produced furnishings in Sao Paolo. It is made in nutmeg-scented imbuia wood, also known as Brazilian walnut for its fine grain.
