June 2018 - Putting a unique twist on the modern day classic suitcase, Eden Being has partnered with Globe-Trotter to release a capsule collection of glamorous trunk-style suitcases designed exclusively for Oetker Collection’s discerning clientele. Known for the uncompromising integrity of their craftsmanship, the Globe-Trotter cases feature a series of beautifully hand-drawn designs of Oetker Collection hotels printed on their interior and are available for purchase only on edenbeing.com, as well as in Eden Being boutiques.
Pairing Great British design with Oetker Collection’s masterpiece hotels found in beautiful destinations all over the world, the suitcases are made from Globe-Trotter’s trademark Vulcanised Fibreboard constituted of 14 layers of paper, cotton and wood pulp, to a formula that has been a well-guarded secret for over a century. Their durability combined with lightweight construction made Globe-Trotter suitcases the explorers’ choice including Captain Scott and Sir Edmund Hilary, while Queen Elizabeth II chose the brand for her honeymoon luggage in 1947 and continues to use her cases to this day. Now injected with a touch of Oetker glamour for a contemporary - and fabulously fun - spin, five different designs have been created to represent the masterpiece hotels in the Collection and evoke a sense of place from each: Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, Le Bristol Paris, Eden Rock - St Barths in the Caribbean, The Lanesborough in London, and Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden.
“Our lifestyle brand Eden Being’s ethos is all about capturing memories - the exquisite special something that will forever remind travellers of their time in one of our masterpiece hotels, perfectly befitting our new partnership with Globe-Trotter. Authenticity and the most precise attention to detail are hallmarks that unite Oetker Collection with Globe-Trotter today and the curated pieces by Eden Being reflect this philosophy” said Frank Marrenbach, CEO Oetker Collection.
Established in 1897, all Globe-Trotter suitcases are made in Hertfordshire, England by highly skilled artisans using original manufacturing methods and machinery that date back to the Victorian era. For 120 years, the brand philosophy has remained unchanged: an uncompromising integrity of craftsmanship. Of this new partnership with Eden Being, James Fisher, Brand Development Director of Globe-Trotter comments: “Integral to Globe-Trotter’s core values is an adherence to what we as a brand hold dear - attention to detail, individuality and, of course, luxury, glamorous travel. Obviously, all of these criteria are what Oetker Collection has managed to impart in all of their properties around the world and it is these values which first attracted us to work with Eden Being. From Eden Rock - St Barths, through to the extremely elegant The Lanesborough in London, all of their hotels offer their customer an unrivalled insight into a luxurious and glamorous travel lifestyle which Globe-Trotter holds true to this day.”
“The creative inspiration behind the Globe-Trotter x Eden Being partnership was to encapsulate the delight in travelling, whilst conveying the glamour, lifestyle and sense of discovery travel offers. Drawing upon the history of Oetker Collection’s masterpiece properties and the iconic standing of the Globe-Trotter brand, we have created a range of suitcases that are the perfect luggage for today’s modern traveller.” – Martin Tonks, Creative Director for Eden Being.
