Paris, July 2018

Eden Being, the luxury lifestyle brand of Oetker Collection, has unveiled its second in a series of specially curated art exhibitions with art gallery Blain|Southern across the Collection’s masterpiece hotels.

The three sculptures by renowned artist Lynn Chadwick have been installed in the garden of the iconic Le Bristol Paris, for hotel guests and visitors to enjoy.

Blain|Southern has selected three of Lynn Chadwick’s characteristic bronze sculptures including Dancers (1967), which has previously been on display at other historic locations such as the Museo del Giardino di Boboli and the Giardino Bardini, Florence.

Teddy Boy & Girl, 1979

Dancers captures the joie de vivre of Le Bristol and celebrates the past glamour which is enmeshed in the hotel’s DNA. Teddy Boy and Girl (1979) references the British subculture typified by young men and women in London in the early 1950s. This playful comment on this period perfectly complements the fun and glamorous atmosphere at Le Bristol Paris today.

Lynn Chadwick was born in Barnes, England in 1914 and became one of the most significant sculptors of his generation. He rose to international prominence after World War II, when he represented Britain at the 1956 Venice Biennale and was awarded The International Prize for Sculpture, ahead of more established names such as Alberto Giacometti. He is primarily known for sculptures often inspired by the human form and the natural world, but which at times seem close to abstraction.
