A holiday spent at Jumby Bay Island is like a retreat into a world apart, where everyday cares melt away and all that remains is the natural joy and authenticity of the Caribbean lifestyle. The private island is preparing for its highly anticipated reopening on November 7th with an updated dining experience imagined by Executive Chef Paolo Lovari, completely aligned with new safety protocols and designed to delight the foodie palette.
Chef de Cuisine Matthew Liddell, who cultivated his technique and creativity in London’s 3 Michelin starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, has led the kitchen at Jumby Bay’s The Estate House since 2017. For the upcoming season, Chef Matthew has transformed the dining experience to keep it fully à la carte, all whilst preserving his unrelenting dedication to Jumby Bay’s exquisite local ingredients from the island’s small farm and abundant kitchen garden.
The seating arrangements at all 4 of the island’s dining venues have been reconfigured for sociable social distancing, and each offers a unique ambiance for enjoying delicious, locally inspired cooking. The Estate House is, of course, the island’s most formal dining outlet (and one of the Caribbean’s premier restaurants), whereas The Veranda offers subtly smart outdoor dining fringed by bougainvillea with the soothing hush of the sea, and the Pool Bar and Beach Shack are relaxed and refined for a casual bite by the water. As always, the all-inclusive menus feature complimentary cocktails, fine wines and Jumby Bay’s signature sparkles: Taittinger champagne.
Food, Drink and Fun
Leading up to this exclusive, even more private season for the Caribbean’s most luxurious private island, with a limited initial opening of only 28 suites, the Jumby team has prepared a delightful schedule of pop-up events. Every Saturday evening, a DJ will set rhythms to the tides for a sensational sunset beach party and happy hour. Cooking classes with wine tastings and starlit movie nights on the beach remain a Jumby fixture, and the four-course White Nights dinner and music on the beach and Caribbean Nights with Antigua’s best BBQ are just a sampling of the foodie celebrations that are coming up at your favourite island hideaway.
Now is the time to begin thinking about where you will spend the end-of-year holidays. Jumby Bay Island will reopen just in time for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s celebrations spent in the private tropical paradise…
Experience an unforgettable getaway at Jumby Bay Island.
