These uncertain times have left many in need of extra support, and Oetker Collection has risen to the occasion. All nine Masterpiece Hotels have temporarily closed their doors to help protect the health and safety of all, but Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, Jumby Bay Island, Palácio Tangará, Eden Rock–St Barths, Le Bristol Paris and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc have put other resources to good use for our teams and local communities around the world…
Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa has formed a partnership with the Children’s and Youth Home of Baden-Baden, making twice-weekly food deliveries on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Children’s and Youth Home supports 120 young people between the ages of 6–18 with food and housing, educational assistance, psychological services and other resources to help them thrive. Brenners is also planning to host a Summer BBQ for the children and youth when quarantine restrictions are lifted.
Antigua, West Indies
The team at Jumby Bay Island had to move very quickly to mobilise 350 bags of perishable food before Antigua and Barbuda went on its seven day lockdown on April 2nd. Jumby Bay distributed the food to the island staff and their families to help equip them for the enforced quarantine period. The teams also sent a large food donation to the nearby St. John’s Hospice who were very grateful to receive it, the only donation they had been offered that week.
São Paulo, Brazil
At Palácio Tangará, Executive Chef Felipe Rodrigues, along with the entire F&B team, sorted and distributed the hotel’s food reserves to team members who will be facing financial uncertainty during the unexpected closure. High-priced food items such as smoked salmon, wagyu beef and fine cheeses were subsidised and sold to the team at affordable prices to take home to their families.
As the majority of the Eden Rock–St Barths team are transplants from France and elsewhere around the globe, without family on the island, the hotel is continuing to support the team members with a housing allowance and food donations. The Eden Rocker family is staying connected through virtual activities like digital Boot Camp, dance challenges and recipe sharing while everyone remains in quarantine at home.
Le Bristol Paris has donated over 2,000 beverages and snacks from the hotel’s minibars to Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital in the 18tharrondissement, where they are being given to doctors and nurses working hard to treat patients. The team is pleased to help boost the spirits of their fellow Parisians with soft drinks, fruit juice and chocolate.
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc possessed a reserve of masks and other personal protective equipment that the team swiftly donated to assist the medical personnel at the Antibes Hospital. In addition, the hotel is supporting the Centre Communal d’Action Social (Communal Centre for Social Action), with blankets, pillows and toiletries to bring extra comfort to the homeless population that the organisation is housing in an emergency shelter.
The current situation around the world requires that we all work together to protect everyone’s health and safety. Oetker Collection is united in this effort and will continue to seek out ways to support our teams and local communities throughout this challenging period.
