Du Pain et Des Idées is a Parisian boulangerie with a story as rich as its buttery croissants. Christophe Vasseur, owner and Head Baker, left his career in international business in 2002 to follow a childhood dream of baking bread. With no prior experience or training, Vasseur taught himself the art of bread making and opened Du Pain et Des Idées in a beautiful, historic boutique with original finishing that dates back to 1875.
What sets this bakery apart from the rest is Vasseur’s uncompromising commitment to using live flour milled from heritage species of wheat. Those with non-celiac gluten sensitivity will find that they can eat the bread and pastries from Du Pain et Des Idées without experiencing the same effects. Sonia Papet, Head Concierge at Le Bristol Paris, has appointed the bakery as her go-to for the usual croissant run.
