L’Apogée Courchevel and the Alpine Ibex

Oetker Collection and L’Apogée Courchevel, in cooperation with our treasured guests, have sponsored an Alpine ibex named Hapogée who lives in the Vanoise National Park. The Alpine ibex is a protected mountain goat species that roams the highest heights of the Alps. They are known for their curved shape horns (much larger on males) and uncanny climbing ability. Ibex tend to live a lifespan of around 17 years in the wild.

Hapogée is a 7-year-old female. A tracking device has been attached to her ear for easy tracking by the Park’s researchers. Guests at L’Apogée Courchevel have contributed to sponsoring Hapogée through donations made via sales of the ibex plush toy found in every room and suite. Donations go directly to support Vanoise National Park and their noble efforts to protect the extraordinary ibex.
