Boulangerie Veziano is something of an icon in the city of Antibes, and Gilles Bertolino—Head Concierge at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc—recommends a visit to all his gluten-eating guests.
Slightly difficult to spot behind an olive tree and other verdure, the bakery is located in the Old Town– just a short walk from the Marché Provençal. Famous for its range of traditional, artisinal breads, Boulangerie Veziano is also renowned for making the best pissaladière (a focaccia-like tart with sautéed onions, anchovies and black olives) in all of France. Opened in 1924, the bakery has been passed down through 3 generations of the Veziano family. Their savoir-faire has been employed by the likes of French master chef Alain Ducasse for the wedding of Prince Albert de Monaco, and yet their legacy remains one of unwavering quality, tradition and humility.
