Massif de l’Esterel: A Natural Wonder

The Esterel Massif is a coastal mountain range that lines the Côte D’Azur from Mandelieu-La Napoule in the East to Saint-Raphaël in the West– about a 45-minutes’ drive from Antibes.

Featuring the GR 49 and GR 51 trails, it is an exquisite venue for mountain biking or hiking. Laurent Van Hoegaerden, General Manager at l’Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, recommends the trip to his nature-loving guests.

“Esterel is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. I love to take walks there in the autumn and admire all of the exceptional views afforded by this massif on the French Riviera.”

The Massif’s highest point is Mont Vinaigre, reaching over 600 meters in altitude of deep red volcanic rock cliffs. This stunning nature reserve is a peaceful place to enjoy a gentle walk or– for the daring– an athletic hike whilst overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.
