Antibes is dotted with its fair share of ice cream shops, but there is a special one that Laurent Van Hoegaerden, General Manager at l’Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, recommends above all others.
Gelateria del Porto is located mere steps away from Port Vauban, but don’t expect to walk right up to it: there’s nearly always a queue. As Laurent puts it:
“Everyone loves ice cream! I’ve got an unruly sweet tooth and my favourite flavour is caramel yoghurt. I love strolling around town with a delicious ice cream cone in hand– it’s like stepping back into my childhood.”
Gelateria del Porto’s homemade ice creams and sorbets are 100% natural and crafted without the use of colourings or preservatives. They make all of the classic flavours you would expect to find, as well as a few unique recipes such as chestnut and honey & meringue. Nothing beats an after-dinner cone from this famous gelateria, paired with a stroll around the marina as the sun sets.
