The countryside surrounding Baden-Baden is covered in over 325 hectares of grape vines, constituting what is known as the Rebland wine region.
The grapes grown here produce a variety of different wines, from Riesling, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris to sparkling whites and even schnapps.
Sunday April 14th is a special day in the region when 15 local wine producers will open their doors from 11am-6pm for winery tours and demonstrations of wine’s journey from grape to bottle. Of course, wine tastings and finger food will be offered, and there is a shuttle bus that will make the rounds from winery to winery throughout the day, so that visitors can take in the full pleasure of each stop.
The event is sponsored by Rebland’s Association of Wine, Tourism, Culture and the Arts. If you are in Baden-Baden on April 14th, we encourage you to take advantage of this rare opportunity to discover Rebland wines with the winemakers themselves – and maybe even take a bottle or two home.
