This month in St Barths, the world’s most passionate sailors will convene for the 10th annual Les Voiles de St. Barth
sailing event, sponsored by Richard Mille. For five days from April 14-20, the St Barths waters will host regattas and races for state-of-the-art sailing vessels and yachts, while the island shore will be booming with round-the-clock parties.
Pierre Casiraghi is the face of this year’s 10th-anniversary event. Casiraghi is a decorated sailor who serves as Vice President of the Monaco Yacht Club, although he is perhaps best known as a member of Monaco’s royal family. He will participate in the week’s regattas alongside his crew aboard the Maxi 72 Socha – the most technically advanced manually driven monohull boat that exists.
An extreme sailing adventure awaits in Saint-Barthélemy. This year’s organisers have invited the teams who participated in the very first annual event in 2009 back to race again in St Barths for the 10thanniversary edition. Even for the uninitiated, Les Voiles de St. Barth is an exciting opportunity to witness the thrilling world of competitive sailing, and maybe learn a thing or two about this elite sport.
Recommended if you’re visiting the island over Easter weekend.
