“This is one of my favourite places to eat. The Bistrot is run by two brothers — Mathieu in the kitchen and Thomas on front of house — who have helped grow their parents’ restaurant,” he explains.
This bi-level bistro is located across from the old Golfe Juan Port, where Mathieu Allinei shops for the catch of the day every morning. The brothers serve a seasonal menu of Provençal dishes in a contemporary dining room with an elegant bar and upstairs terrace for al fresco dining overlooking the port.
“Their speciality is the fish they buy from the local Golfe Juan fishermen, which is always exceptionally fresh. Every dish is cooked to perfection and the service, which is very relaxed, gives this venue a warm, family atmosphere,” says Laurent.
